SCOPE

Scope are currently lobbying the UK Government to ratify the first disability specific human rights convention for disabled people: The UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities.

This convention will promote, protect and ensure the full and equal enjoyment of human rights by all disabled people, not just prohibit discrimination. The UK Government has signed the UN Convention but has not yet ratified it. Until it does, the Convention is not legally binding on the UK.
